Milly: Michael is teaching her to play draughts, she is learning fast and delights in cornering him.
Sam: Sailing the club Pacer with Michael at the helm, Sam has various jobs from trimming the sheets to raising the centreboard in shallow waters.
Capturing sneaky photos of Michael with the kids, watching his patience as he teaches them and seeing their joy learning from him is one of my favourite things.

ReplyDeleteI do love the way the little ones learn games and at first you let them beat you, but ever so quickly they start to actually really beat you. Wonderful!
And sailing. Oh my oh my. I remember learning when I was young. It's a dream to do it again. Oh yes. I'm sure my boy especially, and my girl too I imagine, would love it too. We recently brought Swallows and Amazons home from the library and I can't wait for A to start reading it and loving the adventure.
{Also, wondering if maybe your Sam and my Ari might like to write some letter - real snail mail letters to each other? Just a thought. We aren't so terribly excellent at regular correspondence but I am trying to be more so}.
