School holidays - it's been playgrounds, bike tracks, colouring in, baking, craft, walking, friends, picnics. It's also been a never ending pile of laundry - my mantra of one day one outfit is being blatantly flouted.
But what I find completely bizarre is the quantity of food Sam consumes every day during the holidays. In term time he goes to school with a lunchbox containing a sandwich, piece of fruit and a piece of cake or biscuit. It lasts him from a 7am breakfast until his after school snack. Sometimes he leaves food in it as he "wasn't that hungry". During the holidays he eats constantly. I do the boredom versus hunger test and he swears hunger. He isn't just asking for junk. I have no idea how he eats so much. At 4 o'clock this afternoon he broke out the Sultana Bran. So mostly in the holidays I feel like I am a caterer struggling to meet the whims of a hungry horde.

Growth spurt!
